About Genevieve

Hello! My name is Genevieve Hudson.

I am the Director and Creator of Genevieve's Music Studio now located on the corner of Stone and Sydenham street in Gananoque, as well as the teacher, music enthusiast and piano advocate for all the programs my studio offers.

My background includes 19 years as a general classroom teacher as well as a keyboardist, accompanist, organist & praise director. My Bachelor of Music and my Bachelor of Education degree from Queen's University has provided me with the ability and opportunity to teach in various places in Ontario, as well as the USA and UK.

Since returning to Canada five years ago, I have been teaching music for the UCDSB in the primary and junior grades as well as at the intermediate and High School level. My continuing education has included Special Education parts 1 and 2 as well as Intermediate vocal music qualifications.

At the same time, my desire to foster music development in the early years has lead me to participating in Early Childhood Music Education workshops and courses. I completed the Royal Conservatory of Music's “Music in Early Childhood” course 2 years ago and have just achieved Level I certification in both Kodaly and ORFF music methodologies.

I am now also a Music for Young Children teacher and am excited to offer this exciting and highly motivating group piano program to the community this Fall. Keep your eyes and your ears open!
