Sunrise (1, 2 and 3)

After Music Pups comes an exciting and innovative pre-school music program for children two and a half to four years old, Sunrise. Children receive instruction in singing, rhythm, and ear training with teddy bears being one of the learning "tools". This specially developed music curriculum includes stories, finger puppets, songs, instruments and games and the hilarious companionship of jazz trio, Buddy Croak, Mellow Yellow and Buzz.

Sunrise is offered in three, 10 week blocks (Sunrise 1, Sunrise 2 and Sunrise 3) throughout the year, each one introducing one of the jazz trio members as a means to consolidate musical elements.and to further explore new ones.

This dynamic program is also an excellent introduction and lead into the group piano lessons of MYC's Sunshine 1, where children continue to develop musically through the introduction of Keyboard friends such as Fireman Fred and rhythm friends like Hop and Busy Beaver.

So whether you are just looking for a fun musical class that you and your child might enjoy together, Sunrise also offers an excellent musical foundation from which your child can grow and develop.

Parent involvement

Parent participation in the Sunrise program is integral to it's success. By being present, parents become aware of their child’s learning styles, strengths and interests. Parent participation in the program also allows reinforcement of concepts and skill-building at home. Parents see how the concepts are presented, and learn how to reinforce the ideas at home. Also, the presence of a parent provides stability and security for the child, for whom this may be the first structured experience.
