Studio Policies

Termination/Cancellation of lessons

One month's notice, or one month's tuition, must be given if lessons are terminated before the end of May.

Lessons cannot be terminated at the end of May, therefore, June's tuition will not be returned.

Missed lessons

Please phone or email as soon as possible if you or your child are going to miss a lesson. I may be able to contact the next student to come in earlier or later according to the need.

At the same time, a lesson is a time slot that is committed to you. Another student cannot be slotted in therefore, there will be no reduction in tuition for lessons missed by students. On the other hand students get ill and life does happen so I will try to rearrange another time slot that is mutually suitable when required. This means juggling around various other commitments and other students' time slots which can get very “crazy” therefore students are allowed a maximum of 4 reschedules a year. After that I will not reschedule the lesson.

In the case of teacher illness, I may cancel up to one lesson a year for which there will be no reduction in tuition. Any additional lessons which I may have to cancel will either be made-up when possible or credit given.

Missed lessons without prior notice will not be rescheduled.

Music

I will try to use books that I already possess but I also may shop for music such as method books, conservatory repertoire, theory workbooks, composer literature and just plain fun pieces that will encourage playing. Any extra music that is needed will be invoiced to you. At times I may request that the student be responsible for buying required books and materials too.
